Hey, I'm Aroosha, 28, based in Bahrain, working in food-tech at Calo, GCC's leading meal subscription company.
I lead all food-related initiatives, mostly focused on enabling personalization through AI, think of it as your personal chef who knows what you'd like to eat and what your body needs for the day.
These are all Food Ops and Consumer related releases done by the Food Experience Squad at Calo.
The problemSubscribers were locked into whatever the weekly menu offered, no way to act on a craving or find their favourite meals everyday. A fixed menu led to a less personalized one and users would request for more variety and their favourite meals.
What I builtDesigned and shipped Calo's foundational AI BYO Engine, the first of its kind in food-tech which allowed us to serve users in a more personalized manner. All users had to do now was tell us what they want to eat, and we would make a meal for them on spot! The engine would take into account their allergens, dislikes, macro requirements and profile. Think of yourself using this and typing in any craving or health restriction such as "make it vegan" or "high protein, low carb" or "give me a spicy salad" — you will see a three-meal menu with AI-written names, descriptions, and images.
The problemHaving a fixed menu at Calo meant that some users would miss out on their favorite meals, some may receive meals with their disliked ingredients. This would lead to churn. Hence, the variety on the menu needed to be improved drastically without adding a lot of SKUs on the menu.
What I builtExpanded Build Your Own as a product category and took it from 0–1. Allowed users to make their own rice bowls, pasta meals, sandwiches (for both lunch and breakfast), oats, parfaits and much more! This allowed us to serve meals according to the user i.e: enable personalization as well as expand variety.
The problemSubscribers who wanted more than their plan covered had no in-app way to get it — the only paths were a costly plan upgrade or a manual request to customer support.
What I builtA set of consumer-app revenue surfaces (Add-ons and Premium Meals among them) that let subscribers buy more without upgrading their plan or contacting CX. Conceived and shipped end to end.
The problemDespite having allergen profiles on file, 3–5% of subscribers were still being assigned weekly meals that contained an ingredient they'd flagged — a trust and safety gap, not just an inconvenience.
What I builtScans the upcoming weekly menu against each subscriber's allergen profile, and silently auto-assigns a safe BYO meal. Targets the 3–5% of users who were previously served meals containing their flagged allergens.
The problemNew product development ran on spreadsheets passed between chefs and engineers — slow, error-prone, and disconnected from the live food database it was meant to feed.
What I builtA sandboxed recipe environment that replaced spreadsheet workflows for the kitchen team. A structured 2-step NPD approval lets chefs publish directly to the food database, with an LLM-powered assistant that scales recipes, finds substitutes, and teaches Calo's food philosophy.

Pitched three viable AI product concepts under 48-hour constraints. One of them became the foundation for Calo's AI BYO Engine, now live company-wide.

Aroosha has been a highlight in my team. She proved that she can learn any new skill in a short period of time, be a team player and deliver work fast while communicating perfectly up and across. She worked on User Research and delivered multiple significant insights related to our consumer and internal user journeys and experience. She partnered up closely with the product teams, always challenged the status quo to make our product better. She has perfect organization skills and she's an amazing human being to work with.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Aroosha at Calo on some of our most impactful product initiatives, and she stands out as a very strong product manager. Working with Aroosha, I was always impressed by how well she could connect strategy with execution. She has a clear vision for where a product should go, but she's equally invested in understanding the details required to get there. Throughout our collaboration on major personalization and AI-driven initiatives, she consistently pushed the team to think bigger while keeping us focused on delivering real value to customers. She's highly collaborative, thoughtful in her decision-making, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. She creates alignment across teams, values input from different perspectives, and fosters an environment where people feel empowered to do their best work. All in all, amazing person to work with.
Aroosha and I worked closely together to develop US Mobile's online and public engagement presence. Her position was a hybrid role, juggling multiple line managers across two continents and a large time difference in addition to catering to an array of projects and deadlines, which she handled with exceptional ease. She consistently attended meetings with a hunger to contribute information she had researched and determined autonomously, listen to colleagues' experience and evaluations, engage in productive debate and work collaboratively. Aroosha has an inquisitive nature, a friendly disposition and a thirst for success. Aroosha's professionalism, organisation, tenacity, enthusiasm and generosity with her time were a breath of fresh air. She was an asset to US Mobile's growth and customer service teams. It was a pleasure to work with her.
Aroosha is someone with excellent work ethic! I was really impressed with her speed. I don't know many people I can actually say this for. She truly is one of those resources to whom you give a job and then a. forget about it because she will be after you and 2. She will do it 'yesterday'. She posses great writing skills. She wrote many blogs for the company for SEO purposes and in all her write ups she did not need any supervision or direction. A very independent worker with a great vibe around other fellow workers! Will go above and beyond.
That was the whole resume — the PDF doesn't even have this part. But since you made it all the way down here, you've earned the director's commentary.
